(less)A Concise History of Science in India/D.M.
Yet there are only a few books which provide an unbiased and authentic view of this world. One reason for this is that the study of Indian science through the ages involves the complex integration of the knowledge of many languages and diverse scientific disciplines.
Through the years, there has been growing interest in this study as an important aspect in understanding man's interaction with nature, his material life and cultural patterns. The Indian National Science Academy, through its History of Science Board (1958) and the National Commission for the Compilation of History of Sciences in India (1967) renamed in 1989 as the Indian National Commission for History of Science sought further means to stimulate this interest among
(less)Art of Dancing : Classical and Folk
Every beast and human being dances to express the innermost passions. But dance as an art came into existence with the growth of human society and civilisation.
We find a detailed account of this art in several old Sanskrit works- Abhinaya Darpana, Bharata’s Natyashastra, Sangita Ratnakara, Dhananjaya’s Dasharupa etc. All these books give more or less the same account of the origin of Sangita.
We find three essential features in a dance- (1) A spontaneous movement of the muscles and limbs under the influence of some strong emotion, feeling or passion, such as joy, pleasure, anger or religious exaltation; (2) pleasure derived both by the dancer and the spectator due to a definite combination of such graceful movements. (3) The vivid representation of emotions

J. Swaminathan was to describe him "as a bird who has forgotten how to stop migrating".
For over four decades now, Himmat has demonstrated his leading preoccupations, primarily in drawing and sculpture. If one stands back to take a telescopic view of his sculpture, it would probably fall in the areas of enigma, domesticity and sheer whim.
Himmat turns conventional scale into a mockery and allows for sheer play to dominate his vision, wherein architectural structures are dwarfed and heads enlarged to an enigmatic monumentality. Himmat Shah's work does not appear to judge the human condition.
Instead, it appears to present its existential state, through terms that defy simple

Reptiles have always held human imagination with some awe, almost bordering on a living fear of their cold blooded, crawling and creepy character.
While much of this fear is based on ignorance, responsible for a good deal of unnecessarily cruel and reckless human behavior, some of it is on account of increasing competition between humans and other species in nature for limited
