Index. "The present book sets out to explode the myth of super power dominance.
This case is well illustrated when Soviet Union after having invaded Afghanistan in December 1979 and after occupying it for a decade was forced to withdraw its troops from Afghan soil by 15 February 1989 under the pretext of Geneva accords. Having been the witness as well as the victim of Anglo-Russian rivalry in the past and US-Soviet rivalry in the post-war period, Afghanistan survived these odds by pursuing a policy of positive neutrality and genuine non-alignment.
How a small geographically landlocked and nonaligned country like Afghanistan can survive the manoeuvres of its immediate neighbour Soviet Union, a super power is analytically appraised in this book. The author meticulously

Bibliography. "Minoti Chatterjee, an academic and a theatre activist, explores how Bengali theatre and the upsurges of nationalist movements inform and appropriate each other during the turbulent era of 1905-1947.
As Bengal was the centre of the interaction, negotiation and conflict between the native and the British, its theatre experienced different spatial, and consequently, thematic and technical dislocations and relocations. The theories and practices of theatre underwent a change due to the emergence of a conscious nation-space.
Chatterjee studies the various aspects of the contemporary Bengali stage, with all its major and minor nuances, fame and notoriety, allegiances and importance. She covers the wide range of themes, innovations, and

"With the disintegration of former Soviet Union, the model of 'sovereign nation state system' was thrust upon the Central Asian Republics including Kazakhstan to which they were largely unwilling and unprepared as well. The Republic of Kazakhstan in its historicity is devoid of nationalist exercises and responses of any kind.
The Kazakh society and polity is structured predominantly on clan based systems which is largely traditional in response. On the other, the predominant presence of the Russians in Kazakhstan has constituted it into competitive bi-ethnic society' at large.
Since the inception of Kazakhstan as an independent Republic, the quest for an exclusive Kazakh identity has become an indomitable task for the nation builders in

Notes. "On 11 September 2001, three commercial aircraft became guided missiles and crashed into New York City’s World Trade Centre and the US Military’s Pentagon.
In response, the United States Government (along with the United Kingdom) launched an assault on Afghanistan to root out the networks of the Saudi financier Osama Bin Laden, and eventually the Taliban regime. This is the Fifth Afghan War.
Who is Osama Bin Laden? Why did the US Government target the Taliban and the people of Afghanistan? Why did the US Government not cast its eye on the IBN Saud family in Saudi Arabia? What is Pakistan’s vise and what is the indulgence of Hindutva?. What are the social forces that comprise the radical Islamic groups that felt the wrath of the US guns? What happened to the left in the Arab lands?

In his first work of nonfiction, Marlantes takes a deeply personal and candid look at what it is like to experience the ordeal of combat, critically examining how we might better prepare our soldiers for war. Just as Matterhorn is already being acclaimed as a classic of war literature, WHAT IT IS LIKE TO GO TO WAR is set to become required reading for anyone - soldier or civilian - interested in this visceral and all too essential part of the human experience

The intention of this book is, in the first instance, to set out the elements of the mobilising formula of Islamism, having pinpointed some of the obstacles that our western outlook presents to its rational understanding. The book also identifies the real political origins of those acts of violence which are too systematically interpreted as a political expression of the process of 're-islamisation', to the detriment of essentialism that often affects the external view.
Finally, it also considers
